Bio
Caleb Hinson is rejoining the coaching staff at Iowa Western Community College, where he previously made a significant impact as an Assistant Coach from 2009 to 2019.
During his initial tenure, Caleb was instrumental in leading the team to great success, including securing the NJCAA Division I National Championship in 2013. His exceptional coaching abilities were recognized nationally, earning him a spot as a Finalist for the National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2016 and the title of Region Assistant Coach of the Year the same year.
Caleb’s expertise in recruiting was vital in bringing top talent to the program, such as the NJCAA Player of the Year in 2013 and the NATYCAA Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2011. His leadership contributed to multiple National Tournament appearances and several NJCAA All-Academic Team recognitions. Caleb also played a key role in helping over 80 student-athletes transition to four-year soccer programs.
Currently, Caleb also serves as a Club Coach for Sporting Omaha FC, where he focuses on developing goalkeepers. His work with the goalkeeping unit demonstrates his commitment to fostering talent and enhancing player performance.
Caleb holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Buena Vista University, an Associate of Arts in General Studies from Iowa Western Community College, and is pursuing a Master of Arts in American History from Southern New Hampshire University. He is certified with a C License from the United States Soccer Federation and holds both the Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma and National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches.
Before his coaching career, Caleb enjoyed a distinguished playing career. He starred at Nevada High School in Nevada, IA, earning 1st Team All-State honors in 2004 and 1st Team All-Conference recognition from 2002 to 2004. His high school career included leading his team to IHSAA State Tournament appearances and Conference Championships.
Caleb continued his playing career at Marshalltown Community College, where he was part of the Region XI Championship team that finished the season nationally ranked No. 10. He then played for Iowa Western Community College, earning All-Region XI Honorable Mention as a goalkeeper in 2007.
With his extensive experience both on and off the field, Caleb brings a deep passion for soccer and a strong commitment to developing players at Iowa Western Community College.
