COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Iowa Western Men's Soccer picked up their first win of the 2023 season, shutting out Northeastern JC (CO) 4-0.

Midfielder Timothy Mason opened up the scoring in the 18th minute as he weaved through traffic in the box and buried his shot in the bottom right-hand corner of the net.  Forward Eyifehn Forfor notched his first goal just three minutes later. Forfor opened up the second half of scoring, Mason fed him in the air across the 18, and Forfor finished it with a header back across the face of the net.

Richard Bushmeister rounded out the goals in the 67th minute, Edwin Cisneros fed Bushmeister a through-ball and the forward one-touched the ball past the out-of-position goalkeeper for the easy score.

Iowa Western (1-0-1) out-shot the Plainsmen 18-6 with Goalkeeper Will Devine saving four shots to pick up his first shutout of the year.

The Reivers are back in action on Saturday versus NJCAA Division II opponent Iowa Lakes, game time and location are still to be determined.
