Monday Recap and Preview (9/27-10/3)
Our Reivers this past week only had to prepare for one game, but it was a difficult game at that. Iowa Western made the long journey to Ottumwa, Iowa to face off against the Indial Hills Warriors in a tough ICCAC match. It was a tight game until in the 79th minute Jesus De Vicente was able to find Wawa Palga off a cross and he was able to finish with the keeper scrambling on his line. Then 1 minute later to be exact De Vicente set up another goal this time to fellow Spanish foward Ivan Callado who opens up his goal scoring account this season in the 80th minute. Yuta Ishizuka had a calm day in goal only facing one shot and having to make 1 save in another clean sheet effort which now makes it 6 out 7 games the Reivers have posted a clean sheet.
This upcoming week is another huge week as the Reivers cap off a having to play 3 straight away games by traveling to Fort Dodge to face off against the Iowa Central Tritons on Wednesday September 29th at 3pm. It will be a good test for the Reivers as Iowa Central looks to have improved from last season and will of course want to cause the upset at home. On Saturday we will have the rematch of last years NJCAA National Tournament Semifinal as Iowa Lakes comes to town to faceoff against the Reivers for the first time this season. It will be a huge matchup at both teams are ranked in the top 4. Game time is set for 3pm on campus at the Reiver Sports Complex. Come out and watch!
