Le Calve Snags National Honors as Reivers Unbeaten Streak Continues

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

The NJCAA National Office has named Iowa Western sophomore midfielder, Theo Le Calve, as the NJCAA D-1 National Player of the Week for his efforts to keep his squad perfect last week.

Le Calve, from Caen, France, scored two goals and assisted on another pair as the then 16th ranked Reivers topped #14 Laramie County on Saturday in Council Bluffs.

The sophomore then added an additional helper on Sunday as the team topped Northeastern Junior College, 3-1, to collect their sixth win of the season.

The perfect mark has vaulted Iowa Western into the Top 10 of the national polls as Head Coach Mike Brown finds his team at number 8 in the latest release.

Le Calve is tied for the team lead in both assists (6, Nicolas Torres) and goals (5, Fernando Zaragoza) and is currently scoring on 73% of his shots on goal.

The Reivers have the week off before embarking into Region XI play against Iowa Central on the road, Wednesday, September 18th.

The team will play as part of a triple-header with Reiver Football and Women's Soccer at Lewis Central's Titan Stadium, next Saturday the 21st.
