Reivers clinch playoff berth

Bettendorf, IA - Reivers clinch playoff berth

With the 6-0 win over Scott Community College, Reiver men's soccer clinches a spot in the 2017 NJCAA Region XI playoffs.  The Reivers have two remaining games in the season versus Marshalltown Community College and a rescheduled match between Hawkeye Community College.  There are still many possible scenarios for how the teams will be seeded in the playoffs; however, only the top six teams from the ICCAC standings will advance into the playoffs.  Currently, the Reivers control their own desitiny going into the playoffs.  If the Reivers win out, they will be the No. 2 seed which means they will have a bye on October 28th and will host the winner of the quarterfinal between the No. 3 and No. 6 seeds on October 31st.

The Reivers had six different goal scorers on Monday.  Joao Burti scored his 11th goal of the season and his 4th game-winning goal on a penalty kick.  This makes the fifth consecutive game that Burti has scored in.  The game witnessed four first time goal scorers for the Reivers in Olayemi Olaigbe, Matthew Woo Ling, Thei Tlo, and Solomon ConstantDadwin Hernandez scored his second goal of the season on a long range strike.  Sophomore Yuichiro Hayami kept the clean sheet.
