
Iowa Western Competes in the Howl at the Hill
Lincoln, NE – Iowa Western Men's golf competed this past Monday and Tuesday in the Howl at the Hill tournament hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University at Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Reivers had two teams plus two individuals competing in the event. One team consisted of all freshmen and the other was compiled of all sophomores. The freshman team finished 3rd overall by posting a first round 316 on a windy day 1 with gusts over 35mph and sustained winds of over 20mph. They came back on Tuesday and posted the low round of the day with 295. The sophomore team finished 5th overall after posting 313 and 308.
Iowa Western had two individuals medal within the top 5. Sophomore Nick Slobbe came out of the gate on day 1 to post an impressive even par round of 72 and finished with 77 on day 2 which was good enough for the individual runner-up. Freshman Ethan Main would finish 5th individually after posting 77-74.
The Reivers are back in action in two weeks as they compete in the Central District Championship hosted at Tiffany Greens in Kansas City, Missouri. Dates of the event are April 28th and 29th.
