Reivers Finish 6th at the Mustang Derby
Sioux City, IA - The Reiver Men's golf team wrapped up the inaugural Mustang Derby this past Tuesday hosted by Morningside University at Whispering Creek Golf Club. The men struggled to find their form throughout the course of the 36-hole competition. Highlighting the scoring for the Reivers was freshman Ethan Main who shot one under par (71) in round one, and four over par (76) in round two to finish tied for 4th individually for the tournament. The team finished 6th overall out of the 13-team field. "We really struggled with ball striking both rounds," said Iowa Western Coach Ryan Norman. "It may not reflect on the stats sheets, but our proximity to the hole was not particularly good and we were not converting up and downs; we also had some errant tee shots at the worst times and on this golf course you will pay the price. We've just got to button down on details, to get our consistency as we head into the winter and spring," Norman said.
This concludes the fall tournament portion of the Reivers 2024-25 season. They are looking forward to the winter months to improve and get ready for the upcoming spring season!
