Sam Darnall begins her second season as Assistant Cheer Coach for Iowa Western in the 2023-24 season. Darnall hails from Jacksonville, FL where she participated in competitive gymnastics for 13 years.
"Heading into my second season as the Assistant Cheer Coach, I am beyond grateful to have had an amazing 2022-2023 year," said Darnall. "Coming off of a national championship win my first season is more than I could have asked for. I am grateful to know that my knowledge was beneficial to the success of our season. The win has been a huge stepping stone for our program, and we have huge things in store. I am ecstatic to be taking an additional team down to compete at UCA Nationals, as we hope to continue to dominate cheerleading in the Midwest. This season is going to be the best yet, and Reiver Cheer is the place to be!"
An IWCC Alum under current Head Cheer Coach Raven Gau, Darnall earned her associate's Degree in Marketing Management and is currently finishing her undergrad at Bellevue University.
