KISSIMMEE, Fla. - For just the 2nd time in program history, Iowa Western Competitive Cheerleading brought home a UCA College National Championship.
After three days of competition at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex the Reivers finished at the top of the standings in Open Small Coed. The finals came down to just a 0.9 point difference with the Reivers ending with a score of 86.4 to defeat Itawamba (MS) and Northwest (MS) who tied for 2nd with 85.5 points.
Iowa Western also placed 2nd in Open Coed with a score of 86.4 and 9th out of 19 teams in Open All Girl - Game Day.
For Head Coach Raven Gau, this is her 2nd UCA National Championship during her seven-year tenure at the program's helm.
The teams rounded out the three-day competition with the World University Cup on Sunday evening. Once again, the Small Coed Team finished at the top of the Premier Small Coed division, defeating four 4-year universities to claim the program's 4th world title.
