Crete, NE- The Iowa Western Track & Field team's opened up their season in Crete, Ne for the Ward Haylett Invite. The women's team finished with six top 3 performances including national qualifying marks from Patricia Johnson, Faith Chepengat, and Sierra Coward.

The men's team finished with eight top-3 performances with the highlight of the day coming in the 60m dash where they swept the competition finishing in the top 4 spots. The men had qualifying performance's from returning All-American Johnie Jean-Jacques and the 4x400m relay team (DeAirus Clerveaux, Justen O'Brien, LeeAaron Berks, Shamar Deacon)

Women

• Patricia Johnson finished 1^st in the 60m dash (7.79)* and the Long Jump (5.79m).
• Faith Chepengat finished 1^st in the 1000m (3:06.78)* and the Mile (5:15.25)*
• Sierra Coward finished 2^nd in the women's long jump (5.41m)*
• Accacia Hinds won the women's 400m with a time of (1:01.61)
• Aliyah George finished 2^nd in the 600m (1:44.23)
• Shania Parkinson finished 7^th in the Shot Put (11.93m)

Men

• Johnie Jean- Jacques finished 6^th in shot put (15.08)*
• Men's 4x400m relay finished 1^st with a time of (3:19.95)*
• Nastario Williams won the 60m dash with a time of 6.89
