Reivers Finish Third at District Championships
COUNCIL BLUFFS - Iowa Western Men's Wrestling ended the 2025 North Central District Championships in third place, scoring 118.5 points.
The Reivers qualified all 10 of their wrestlers for the NJCAA National Championships despite not having an district champion this season. Gabe Ferreira (141 lbs) and Matteo Nikolov (174 lbs) finished as district runners-up and Aaron Ohnoutka (133 lbs), Braxton Preacher (149 lbs), and Orion Parker (285 lbs) earned a third place finish.
Indian Hills edged out Iowa Central 154.5 to 149 points to take the team title for the first time since 2020-21.
The team will now focus on the 2025 NJCAA Wrestling Championships at the Mid-America Center, here in Council Bluffs on March 7th and 8th. Adult tickets for the two-day event are $65 for all four sessions or $23 per session. Students are $45 for all four sessions or $18 per session. Children under 3 are free.
