The Reivers snagged 3 out of 4 from the visiting Black Hawks of Southeastern over the weekend; splitting on Friday with a 3-2 win and a 6-0 defeat, then sweeping on Saturday 3-2, and 9-3.

Brook Melnychuk picked up a win on Friday and Saturday, making her the Nation's leader with 17 wins in the circle on the year.  Melnychuk allowed one earned run on the weekend while striking out 9 in 15 innings of work.  Libby Walls picked up her first win of the season on Saturday, going the distance, scattering seven hits, allowing three runs, while striking out three.

Aujenai Gregory added to the excitement on Saturday with the bat, blasting a walk-off double that hit the center field fence to plate Darci Wagner in the 8th inning of game one.  AJ followed up in game two with a two-run homer in the first inning.

"The team came together after some tough losses and started making plays and stepping up at the plate," said sophomore AJ Gregory. "I think it was a really good weekend for everyone individually and as a team growth wise."

Iowa Western is set to take on Southwestern Iowa on the road Wednesday. First pitch set for 2pm.
