The Reivers opened ICCAC play with a sweep over Northeast in Norfolk on Thursday. Iowa Western begins 2-0 in conference play and extends their overall win streak to 13 with the pair of wins in the double header.
Katriana Bain had a monstrous day at the plate going 5-5 with two doubles, three homeruns, seven RBI's, and five runs scored over the two games. ICCAC Pitcher of the Week Brook Melnychuk earned her ninth win of the season in a shut-out performance in game one that saw the Reivers take it 13-0. Offensively, Tayler Floyd, Myla Beckstrom, and Mattilyn Reiling all had two hits, including a homerun from Reiling and a double from Floyd.
In the Night Cap, Hannah Smart remained perfect in the circle picking up a 10-1 win, notching her sixth win of the year. Jessica Strandlund provided two hits, one being a triple, two RBI's, and two runs scored to pace the Reivers offense. Aujenai Gregory also had two doubles in the contest while driving in a run.
The Reivers will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Iowa Falls, IA to take on Ellsworth CC.
