Iowa Falls, IA – Iowa Western extended its winning streak to eight games with a sweep over Ellsworth on the road Thursday. The Reivers took game one 8-5 and game two 15-4.
Julie Katz got the win in game one despite a rough start, walking the first two batters that eventually led to two Ellsworth runs. Carlie Benes led the way at the plate, going 3-4 and scoring three times. Tyla Lee was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Madysen Kim went 1-3 with a solo homerun.
Michaela Epp got the win in game two, giving up four runs on a pair of two run homeruns. Sydney Reamer and Lily Gregory were both 4-5 in the nightcap, with three doubles between them.
Iowa Western is set to take on Southeast CC on Saturday.
