Council Bluffs, IA – The Reivers saw their 13 game winning streak snapped with a split against Indian Hills Community College to start conference play. Iowa Western lost game one, 1-0 but took game two 5-4 after giving up an early 4-1 lead.
Zoe Hicks took the loss in game one despite throwing a two-hitter. IWCC outhit Indian Hills 6-2 in the contest but couldn't come up with the clutch hit. A single in the top of the seventh from Indian Hills, after a hit batter and a stolen base, made the difference. Brieanna Brock got the win in game two and Zoe Hicks notched the save after the Reivers gave up a 4-1 lead before grabbing a 5-4 advantage in the bottom of the sixth on a bases loaded walk from Celia Valencia.
The #18 Reivers improve to 30-6 on the season and 1-1 in ICCAC play. Iowa Western heads to Marshalltown on Saturday for an ICCAC matchup, first pitch set for 2pm.
