A Great Final Round Propels Men to Blue River Classic Victory, Walsh Picks up First Career Win

The men earn their first victory of the season in as many tries at the Blue River Classic hosted by Doane University and Concordia University. The touranment was played at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club and The Highlands Golf Course, both in Lincoln, Nebraska. Day one started at Wilderness Ridge and the team fired a 296 team score. Dean Walsh led the way for the Reivers with a 1-under par 70. Walsh was the only player in the field under par after the first round. Midland University led at the midway point with a team score of 293. Day two was played at The Highlands Golf Course. The team got off to a slow start and was still trailing Midland through 9 holes. The Reivers played their last 9 holes in 7-under par and closed the gap with Midland. Jakob Falk carded a 68, Dean Walsh a 69 and Cade McCallum a 70 for the team to shoot a 9-under par 279. Micah Moyer shot a career low 68 and Rick Van Der Nat shot 70 playing as individuals as well. Seven Reivers in all carded scores of even par or better in the final round. The Reivers eventually earned a 7 shot victory over Midland University. The men tee it up again at the Warrior Challenge hosted by Indian Hills Community College on September 16th and 17th.
