Catherine Groom is a freshman on the cheerleading team from Pennsylvania and Mason Nikel is also a freshman on the team from Florida. They are both current members of the coed team at Iowa Western and both members represented Iowa Western at UCA College Nationals this season.

Jenna Schuckman is a freshman on the cheerleading team from Florida and Evan Guth is a sophomore on the cheerleading team from Pennsylvania. They are also current members of the coed team at Iowa Western, and they also both represented Iowa Western at UCA College Nationals this season.

Coming into Iowa Western is an easy transition with comfortable class sizes, personable teachers willing to offer a lot of help and guidance. They will go the extra mile to make sure you are ready to leave Iowa Western and go on to a 4 year school.

The Cheerleading program here at Iowa Western is special. It creates a responsibility, dedication, work ethic, and accountability just as it does in the classroom. Iowa Western athletics as a whole comes with this underlying pressure that makes you better. It fires you up and gives you that motivation to want to be that person.

Raven Gau is the Iowa Western Spirit Coordinator and Head Coach. She is also a former Reiver and transferred to the University of Central Florida after two years at Iowa Western. Being a former student-athlete herself allows her the capability to both empathize and sympathize with her athletes because she has been where they are. She knows what it takes. If you can trust the process and buy into the structure your future and cheerleading career is endless.

Iowa Western currently has a large coed cheerleading team, and will be adding an all-girl program as well this next season. There are many athletic scholarship opportunities available. The Reiver cheer program is hosting two clinics open to high school students and college transfer students interested in polishing or bettering their skills in preparation for high school tryouts and college tryouts. The clinic dates are Saturday March 9th and Saturday April 6th, 2019. Tryouts for the upcoming season are May 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

If you are an individual coming out of high school preparing for the next step give Iowa Western an opportinity. It is a stepping stone to bigger and better things, and when you leave here you will be prepared academically and athletically.
