Bio
Jeff Bolen enters his 1st year as the Reivers pitching coach.
Before coming to Iowa Western, Bolen was the head baseball and pitching coach at St. Charles CC in the St. Louis area. During Bolen’s tenure, SCC amassed 144 wins, garnered 7 All-Region pitchers, 15 Division 1 pitchers, and a professional pitcher who signed with the Padres.
In 2024, SCC won the program’s 1st and only MCCAC Conference Championship and amassed the 2nd most regular season wins in school history. St. Charles also appeared in the Region 16 Championship game in 2023 for the first time since 2000.
Under Bolen, the St. Charles Pitching Staff broke single season records for K’s, K’s/9, K:BB, .BAA and tallied 3 straight 400+ strikeout seasons. Bolen also had pitchers break multiple single season records including K’s, K’s per 9, K:BB, .BAA, Wins and had the only two pitcher’s in SCC history make the 100ip club.
Prior to St. Charles, Bolen was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Wabash Valley College from 2016-2018. While at WVC, Bolen’s pitching staff finished in the top three in the NJCAA in ERA, K’s, K’s Per 9 and Batting Average Against. The Warriors won two Region 24 titles and finished 3rd at the 2017 NJCAA D1 World Series. The Warriors sent 15 arms to NCAA D1 programs and had two arms drafted (7th and 40th round).
In the spring of 2015 and 2016 Bolen was the pitching coach at Fontbonne University, where they broke the school record in K’s and had four pitchers earn All-Conference honors. Bolen had one arm sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bolen earned his MA in Education from Fontbonne University and his B.S. from MacMurray College. He and his wife, were married in the summer of 2015 and have one daughter, Maia.
