6 Days Separated the Series, Couldn't Stop the Reivers from Sweeping Marshalltown

The weather couldn't prevent Iowa Western from keeping their record clean in ICCAC Play as they won all 4 against Marshalltown CC outscoring the Tigers 55-9.

The bats were loud in Game 1 as the Reivers racked up 17 hits and 15 runs in the 5-inning game.  Ronald Sweeny III (FR, Woodbury, MN) went 4-5 with a 2B, a 3B, 3 RBIs, and a Run.  Freshman Ross Indlecoffer (Vadnais Heights, MN) went 3-4 with a 2B, a Homerun, 6 RBIs, and 2 Runs scored.  Hagen Holmstead (SO, American Fork, UT) also launched his 3rd Homerun of the season with a 2-run blast in the 1st.  Sean Chandler (RS/SO, Bellevue, NE) picked up his 5th win throwing all 5-innings giving up 1 earned run.  Reivers took Game 1 15-2.

Game 2 saw Iowa Western tack on 8 more hits and tally 6 free passes to take the game 10-0 in 5 innings.  Sophomore Kobe Hyland (Spruce Grove, ALB, Can) went 1-2 with a 2B, a BB, and 3 runs as he reached base on a error.  Indlecoffer stayed hot going 1-1 with 2 RBIs, a BB, and 2 Runs scored.  Marius Balandis (FR, Lockport, IL) snagged the W throwing 3-innings before handing the ball off to Sophomore Keaton Winn (Ollie, IA) who threw the last 2 innings striking out 3.

6 days later, the Reivers keep hitting as they score 16 runs on 14 hits to take Game 3 16-1.  Indlecoffer continued his dominance going 3-4 with 3 2Bs, a BB, and 2 Runs scored.  Sophomore Tanner Holen (Manhattan, KS) went 3-3 with 2 2Bs, a BB, a Run scored, and a RBI.  Indigo Diaz (SO, Vancouver, BC, Can) moved to 6-0 on the season throwing 5 innings and giving up 1 run.  Sophomore Breyden Eckhout (Amherst, NE) and Freshman Cole Albers (Brookland Park, MN) combined to face the minimum across the final 2 innings of the game.

Iowa Western sealed the sweep with a 14-6 victory in Game 4Ryan Sullivan (SO, Aurora, CO) went 3-4 with a Homerun, 2 RBI, a BB, and 2 Runs scored.  Sophomore Cole Evans (Columbia, MO) added 2 hits in 2 at-bats with 2 BBs and a Sac Fly.  The offense ended the day with 12 hits and 16 free bases.  Ben Dotzler (SO, Ida Grove, IA) added another win to his record moving to 3-0.

The Reivers are back in action as they host the Southwestern series on Monday (4/16) and Tuesday (4/17) with both days starting at 2pm.
