Iowa Western gives up 2 in the top of the Top of the 9th to lose to the Storm of Southeast (NE) CC 6-5 in the last test prior to conference play taking off.
The Reivers used 6 pitchers for the 9-inning game striking out 11 and giving up only 4 earned runs in the loss. Red-Shirt Freshman Jayden Kruse (North Platte, NE) took the hill for the Reivers and fanned 5 in his 3 innings of work. Joseph Roecker (FR, Elkhorn, NE) took the loss in his 0.2 innings of relief.
Tyler Reichenborn (SO, Brookland Park, MN) started off the game with a solo shot off the scoreboard in right center for his first homerun of the season. He would finish the game going 3-4 with 3 Stolen Bases, 2 RBIs, and the 1 run. Brandon Bena (SO, Omaha, NE) added to the offense going 3-4 with 2 runs and a Stolen Base of his own.
The Reivers are back in action as the host ICCAC opponent Indian Hills for a DH on Friday (3/30) and Saturday (3/31) with both days starting at 1pm!
