Hillsboro, MO.- The Iowa Western Reivers headed this past weekend to Hillsboro, Mo to play at the Jefferson Classic. Their first opponent of the weekend were the Grizzlies of West Plains for third time this season. Iowa Western was not ready for what West Plains' squad was about to bring to the gym and couldn't match up to their grit. The Reivers took their third loss of the season in a four set thriller (21-25, 29-31, 25-22 and 22-25).

Libero, Ariana Macies, was the anchor defensively for the Reivers locking in a career-high 28 digs while Savannah Downing followed suit with 20. Freshman, Genesis Sheridan, dominated at the net with a total of 8 blocks while adding 9 kills. Outside hitter, Irina Alekseeva, scored 24 kills for the Reivers and set up 6 blocks. Hina Pua'a added another double-double to her resumé after pitching in 48 assists and 10 digs.

The Reivers will be back in action, tomorrow at 10am and noon against Illinois Central College and, tournament host, Jefferson College.
