Reivers finish home tournament in dominating fashion

Council Bluff, IA.- Iowa Western goes undefeated at home after hosting their last tournament of the season. The Reivers came back hungry on Saturday after Friday's victories over No.5 and No.15. Their first opponent was Johnson County who is currently ranked 3rd in the NJCAA DII polls. The Cavaliers stood no chance against the Big Blue squad, keeping them under 20pts in all three sets (25-13, 25-11 and 25-18).

The offense was paced by Alyssa Oswald with 10 kills while Morgan Bossler and Genesis Sheridan combined for 16 kills. Kelsey Havel set up a brick wall scoring 4 blocks for the Reivers while Ariana Macies picked up 15 digs. Hina Pua'a had a stellar game with double-double stats, chipping  in 35 assists while leading the team with 18 digs.

 Iowa Western had back-to-back games, facing Iowa Lakes last. This time the Reivers showed no mercy to the Lakers, keeping them in single digits all three sets (25-3, 25-8 and 25-9). The team hit a clip of .575 with Havel leading the way scoring 11 kills. Defensively, Ariana Macies took charge of the floor tallying 14 digs. While at the net, the Reivers posted a total of 10 blocks and Bossler locked in 3 of them. Setters, Hina Pua'a and Annika Hufnagel, teamed up to produce a total of 34 assists.
