HUTCHINSON — No. 2 Iowa Western Community College had to settle for a split in volleyball Saturday to wrap up play at the Blue Dragon Invitational. After defeating Northeastern 25-17, 25-8, 25-18, the Reivers fell to No. 8 Seward County 25-21, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19.

"We played hard," said Iowa Western coach Alicia Williams, "against a really good team. Their (Seward) offense and blocking was phenomenal." Williams could not fault her team, but "Seward treated the match like a national championship and we didn't handle it. "Seward was better today and we will just have to get after it when we resume practice on Monday."
