Reiver Women Take Second, Men Take Third at Washburn JUCO Challenge

Topeka, Kansas

Iowa Western Women's Track qualified two more student-athletes for NJCAA Indoor Nationals at their final regular-season meet of the season in Topeka at the Washburn JUCO Challenge.

Nickisha Pryce qualified for Nationals with a third-place finish in the 200m with a time of 24.70, while Shania Parkinson flexed her muscle in the shot and weight throw, finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively in the events.

"We were happy to add some names to the national list as well as adding some open events for some athletes already qualified." said Head Coach Doug Marshall, "This week of practice will be very important moving forward into Regionals and Nationals and we have some improvements to make to be ready for some great competition over the next few weeks."

Overall, the women finished second at the event, while the men took third in the team standings.  The women have now qualified 10 student-athletes for Nationals in March.
