Bearcat invite brings more success for Women's Track & Field

MARYVILLE, MO- The women's team had a great showing at the Bearcat Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State University. They finished the weekend with seven top ten finishes for the weekend with and one event winner. This was a great tune up meet as they will begin championship season next weekend with the Region XI Indoor Championships.

 

MEET HIGHLIGHTS

  • Caitly Juhl finished 6th in the 1000m run with a time of 3:26.15
  • Traci Brown finished 9th in the 200m with a time of 25.71
  • Aliyah George qualified for nationals in the 400m with a time of 48.33 that's the 14th best time in the nation
  • The women's 4x4 (Aliyah George, Kitra Bell, Makeda Newman, Christine Irving) qualified for nationals with the 4th fastest time in the nation 3:53.72
  • Aliyah George ran a national qualifying time of 1:38.35 she is now ranked 8th in the nation
  • Makeda Newman also ran a national qualifying time of 1:39.86 and is 12th in the nation
  • Patricia Johnson won the women's long jump with a jump of 5.71 (18'9.00)
