WICHITA, KS (November 19th, 2024) - Top-seeded Iowa Western Women's Soccer breezed past 12th-seeded Laramie County on Tuesday morning, defeating the Golden Eagles 3-0.
After a scoreless first half, the Reivers (17-0-3) turned up the pressure and found the game's first goal off of the foot of their leading scorer, Oruha Hayashi. Hinami Ogushi crossed a ball into the box that bounced past the Laramie County Goalkeeper and found Alexia Medrano who touched it to Hayashi and she had enough on the shot to spin it off a defender and into the back of the net for her 24th goal of the season.
Ogushi added the 2nd goal of the game 11 minutes later after Raquel Batalla crossed the ball from the end line to the middle of the penalty area, and Ogushi smashed it into the top shelf. Honoka Nohara rounded out the scoring on a long dribble from midfield, finishing with a rocket shot past the Golden Eagles' keeper.
