COUNCIL BLUFFS - NJCAA #2 Iowa Western Women's Soccer defeated Western Iowa Tech 11-0 at the John and Harriet Wiebe Football & Soccer Complex to remain unbeaten this season. The Reivers (10-0-2) scored four first-half goals and kept the Comets (5-7-0) out of their attacking half for most of the first 45 minutes.
IWCC turned it up in the 2nd half; Honaka Nohara recorded a hat trick in consecutive goals, scoring in the 48th, 53rd, and 60th minutes. Returning NJCAA Player of the Year, Oruha Hayashi netted a pair of goals and four assists in the contest to give the sophomore 16 goals and 12 helpers this season.
The Reivers will be back in action on Friday, October 11th at 4:00 pm against Western Wyoming. The game will follow the grand opening celebration of the new John and Harriet Wiebe Football & Soccer Complex starting at 3:00 pm and is open to the public.
