
Bueno Joins the Reivers as Assistant Coach
Council Bluffs, IA – Iowa Western Women's Soccer Head Coach Adam Sanchez has announced the addition of Marcela Bueno to the Reiver's coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2024 Season.
"I am so excited to have Marcela join the staff," said head coach Adam Sanchez "Marcela has the experience, mentality, and quality to make a difference on our student-athletes and staff. This hire was all about our team this fall and what they will experience. She is a perfect fit for this upcoming group as she has experience at different levels and will be immense as we seek to connect with our team this fall. I am confident that Marcela will have an immediate and lasting impact on our team as we strive build lasting relationships and reach our season goals."
Bueno comes to IWCC after spending 2 years as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Central Arkansas. While at UCA, Bueno helped the Bears finish 2nd in the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2023. Prior to UCA, she was the men's soccer assistant coach at Central Baptist College in the NAIA from 2021-2022 as well as an assistant coach at Central Arkansas Christian High School in 2021.
As a student-athlete, the São Paulo, Brazil native began her collegiate career at NJCAA DI Ranger College and earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Academic Team honors while serving as team captain her sophomore year during the 2017 season. She transferred to Central Baptist College in 2018 earning school MVP her junior year as well being named Player of the Week on 3 occasions. While playing at Central Baptist, Bueno served captain for 3 seasons until she graduated in 2021.

Bueno graduated Central Baptist College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management and earned a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from UCA. She currently possesses a U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License.
