Reiver Women compete in Kearney
The Reiver Women's golf team had a bit of a set-back at the MIAA Conference Preview hosted by the University of Kearney at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course. The women played up in competition against NCAA Division II teams and finished in 15th spot over-all. Playing a very tough golf course the women struggled at times off the tee box, which set the tone for the 2 days. Highlighting the tournament was Freshman Olivia Holyoak-Church who shot 75 on day 1 followed by a 78 on day 2 placing her in 31st place out of 90 players.
"It was a very difficult course," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "Courses, like this you need to be extremely precise with your golf shot. Losing golf balls off the tee box leads to some high scores. We will regroup, the ladies know what they need to work on to get better."
The women will have a quick turnaround and play in The Big O hosted by Creighton University and The University of Omaha Sept 30th and October 1st.
