The Reiver Women's Golf Team dusted off their clubs and tee'ed it up at the Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, MO. The event, hosted by Missouri Western State University, was the first time the women experienced playing outside since Mid-October. The brutal winter weather kept the team inside all the way right up to the practice round of this event. The course played long and hard for being our first event and the scores showed. Kimberly Park led the Reivers on Day 1 with a Career low round of 83. The women sat in 12th place after Day 1.
Day 2 brought cold rainy conditions and the women felt more comfortable with it. Lisa Lied came back to lead the team with a score of 80, which was the 9th best score of any individual that day. After making a run, as a team, all the way up to 9th place during Day 2 action, the team settled back to finish 12th place out of 14 teams.
The team will get some more much needed outside practices in prior to the next event, The Bulldog Spring Invite, Hosted by Concordia College.
