Reiver Women Tie Program Record in Win Over Bulldogs

Council Bluffs, IA – The Iowa Western Women's Basketball Team soared to victory over Concordia University JV on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, defeating the Bulldogs 95-67.

Three-point shooting has been a strength for the team all season, and the Reivers shot a new season-high, 53.6% from beyond the arc. The team also tied a program record in the contest, making 15 three-pointers. The record was previously set during the 2017-2018 season against Briar Cliff JV. Sommer Blakemore was near perfect, shooting 5-6 from the three-point line. Hayley Berfield was also key in helping tie the program record, connecting on 5 treys, and LaShawn Sweet went 3-4. The Reivers are currently 11th in the Nation for three-pointers made per game.

The Reivers will continue with a nonconference game this Saturday, February 18, at North Dakota State College of Science. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.

The Reivers have their final regular-season home game next week against Region XVI opponent Mineral Area College, the contest will also include a recognition of the team's sophomores. The date for this game is TBD due to a scheduling conflict. 

Post-season play will include the Reivers hosting the Region XI Championship game on Saturday, February 29 at 5:00 p.m. which will play host to the winner of the semifinal game between Northeast and Marshalltown.
