Reivers Split On The Road in Region XVI Matchups

The Iowa Western Women's Basketball team traveled south to Missouri to face Mineral Area College (Receiving Votes Nationally) and Jefferson College before heading into their Holiday break.

The Reivers defeated the Cardinals handily, winning 76-61 on Saturday, December 14. The Reivers were led by University of Illinois commit, Solape Amusan. Amusan had a career-high 17 points to pace the Reivers. Mineral Area was held to just 16.7% shooting from the arc.

Due to weather conditions, the Reivers' matchup against the Vikings set for Sunday, December 15 was moved up from the afternoon to an 11:00 a.m. tipoff. The Reivers had just 14 hours to recover before facing the Vikings. The Reivers battled throughout the game with inside play that was unstoppable. Freshman post player Olivia Roberson finished with a season-high 14 points. However, the inside play was not enough as the Reivers fell short 81-73.

The Reivers will be back in action on January 2 when they face Cloud County in Concordia, Kansas. The team will be back at Reiver Arena on Saturday, January 4 against Iowa Central.
