The Reivers finally saw the bats come alive on Thursday in a home game against Central CC, out of Columbus, NE. Iowa Western swept the day, winning 16-0 and 11-1.

In game one, ten different Reivers had base hits. Katriana Bain and Karlie Chonis each had two hits for the home team. Bain drove in four runs on the day and Chonis hit a solo shot to right-center. Brook Melnychuk was masterful in her four innings of work, allowing just one hit and striking out six.

In the night cap, Kat Bain again led the way, pounding out three more hits, and driving in two more with a double. Taya Opheim had two hits while scoring twice and driving in a run. Aujenai Gregory also doubled for the Reivers. Libby Walls had another quality outing, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six in four innings of work.

"That was an awesome day of softball," said Head Coach Ben Greer. "We've needed a day like today with the bats. The pitching staff has been carrying us all year so it was nice to finally give them some run support."

Iowa Western is set to take on NIAAC in Mason City, IA this weekend. First pitch set for 2pm on Saturday.
