Council Bluffs, IA – After a long and grueling season, Iowa Western softball continued to excel where it matters the most, the classroom. The 2018-19 softball team had 14 of the 16 players on the roster earn Academic All-Region honors and also set a school record for the softball team with 11 NJCAA All-Academic Team members. The group finished 15th in the country with a 3.51 Team GPA.
"I'm incredibly excited about how well we've done in the classroom over the years," Head Coach Ben Greer. "Credit to our student-athletes for pushing themselves to be as successful as they can be and not just on the field. Their education will take them a lot further in life than softball can so I'm thrilled to see them continue to focus on the most important thing about being a student-athlete."
