DeMarcus Stid begins his third year as Iowa Western Throws Coach for the 2024-25 season

During his time with the Reivers, Stid has coached 32 NJCAA National Qualifiers with 28 earning All-American Status.  Seven school records have fallen since Stid came to Iowa Western.  Jazmyn James became Coach Stid's first national champion in women's outdoor shot put.  James threw an IWCC record 15.15m en route to the 2023 outdoor title.

Before Iowa Western, Coach Stid spend the 2021-22 season at McPherson College where he helped to bring seven athletes to the national stage, three of which qualified in the throws with a strong year of setting new school records.

Conference champions 2022 KCAC outdoor shot, discus, hammer, and javelin throws

National qualifiers in the shot, weight throw, hammer, discus, and Javelin throws

National runner-up in the indoor shot

All-American honors in the shot, weight throw, and discus throw 

2022 Indoor & Outdoor South Central Field Athletes of the Year.

Prior to McPherson, Coach Stid spent two years att Frostburg State University where he had regional qualifiers in the hammer and discus and coached MEC conference champions in the weight throw, hammer, and discus throw.

Coach Stid is a graduate of Indiana Tech with a Bachelor's of Science in Fitness & Recreation.
