Reivers end regular season in Waterloo

The Reiver men bowling team competed in their first two tournament weekend ever in Waterloo, IA Feb 8th and 9th.

The men finished 8th in both days of the 11 team field, featuring top 25 schools in Mount Mercy and Hastings College.

Saturday's event the men were led by freshman Tim Lincoln who shot a 984 for 5 games placing him 15th for the event out of a field of slightly over 100.

After a short 12 hour turnaround the men started out strong game 1 on Sunday with a 1005 followed by a 996 to put the team just 19pins behind the leaders after ¼ of the second day. Unfortunately, the rest of the day was not as strong as the Reivers migrated the way down to their final spot of 8th.

The team was led again by Lincoln who finished 14th averaging 208 for the 4 game block. Cracking the top 25 was fellow freshman Josh Hurlbut who averaged 190.

"We have been a slow starting team all year so it was great to see a fast start especially on Sunday. Everyone had the right mentality." Said Coach Goodwin.

The Reivers will head to the NJCAA championships in Cheektowaga, NY March 5-7th.

Teams will compete in Singles, Doubles, and Team competitions.
