Andy Shaw begins his second season as the Head Coach for the Men's Basketball program in 2024-25.

Prior to Iowa Western, Coach Shaw spent 11 seasons at Allen County Community College in Iola, KS.  During his time with the Red Devils Coach Shaw won 167 games with 51 of them coming during the past two seasons.

The 2021-22 season saw Shaw lead the program to a 28-7 record and their first KJCCC title since 1989, going 13-1 in conference play.  The team also earned the program's first-ever berth in the NJCAA national tournament where they went 1-2, defeating Florida Gateway in their opening game.  Allen County finished ranked #14 in the final poll with Shaw being named the KJCCC and Plains District Coach of the Year.  Sophomore guard Ed Wright earned NJCAA 1st Team All-American honors under Shaw.

Coach Shaw played for two seasons at Oklahoma State University under head coach Sean Sutton before an injury changed his path into a career in coaching.  Shaw served as a student assistant for one season and a graduate assistant for two seasons under coach Travis Ford at OSU.

Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in health promotions and a master's degree in educational psychology.  He and his wife Whitney have two daughters, Tatum and Saylor.
