Reivers Win Third Straight on the Road
The Iowa Western men's basketball team continued their road winning streak with an 85-67 win at Northeast CC on Saturday afternoon. In the early going both team's offenses were clicking. Champ Calamese connected on a couple of 3-pointers to get the scoring started for the Reivers. The teams would trade leads throughout the first half, but the Reivers would close on a run to take a 40-35 lead into the halftime break.
The second half was all Iowa Western as the Reivers quickly pushed the lead up to double figures and were never seriously threatened for the remainder of the contest.
Iowa Western was led in scoring by Daleron Thomas who scored 26 points. Thomas also grabbed 6 rebounds and had 3 steals. Champ Calamese had a nice performance with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals. Jadon Cool finished with 15 points, and DaCarter Coleman also reached double figures with 13 points.
Iowa Western is now 10-4 overall on the season, and 3-1 in the ICCAC. The Reivers will host Southwestern Community College on Monday at 3:00 pm for the final game of the semester.
