Reivers Sweep the Scotties

HIGHLAND, KS - NJCAA No.16 Iowa Western Men's Basketball completed a regular season sweep over the (RV) Highland Community College Scotties on Tuesday evening with a 70-49 victory in Highland, Kansas. The Reivers got off to a red-hot start from the 3 point line as DaCarter Coleman knocked in a pair of triples to give Iowa Western the early lead. Iowa Western would lead by as much as 12 midway through the half, but the Scotties quickly erased the deficit towards the end of the half. Iowa Western held a slight lead at the break with a score of 33-31. 

The second half Iowa Western held a steady lead of 4 points, but with 7:00 minutes remaining the Reivers made their push. The Reiver defense was on point as Iowa Western extended their lead to 20 points in a matter of minutes. 
 
Daleron Thomas had his best performance in a Reiver uniform thus far with a 20 point and 10 rebound double-double. Thomas wasn't the only player with a double- double as Madel Deng recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jason Cool finished with 15 points and DaCarter Coleman had 11 points. 
 
Iowa Western will return to action on Saturday in Council Bluffs with a top 20 showdown with #4 Kirkwood Community College in the first ICCAC Conference game.
