Conference Week 2 Ends in a Sweep for the Reivers

The Iowa Western Reivers keep the conference streak going with a sweep of Southwestern this weekend. 

Game 1:  Reivers win with a score of 11-1 over Southwestern. Jaden Rolffs leads the way for the offence, driving in 4 runs on a home run and a sac fly. On the mound Braedyn Mclaughlin picked up his 4th win of the season going 5 innings giving up just 3 hits, 1 run, and striking out 12.

Game 2:  Iowa Western wins with a score of 10-0. Caleb Balgaard, Jaden Rolffs, and Ronald Sweeny all had multi-Rbi days, including Sweeny's 2 run homer to start it off in the first. Jordan Bonk picked up his 4th win on the mound going 5 innings, giving up just one hit and striking out 6 in the shutout.

Game 3:  Day two of play the Reivers were back at it, winning with a score of 14-5 over the Spartans. Ross Indlecoffer had 2 doubles and 2 rbi's in his 3 hit performance, while Gibson Krezeminski knocked in 4 himself with his 3 hit day. Jared Simpson goes 4 innings giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, and 4 strike outs on his way to his 4th win of the season. Dalton Mall and Jacob Gilbert came into the game from the bullpen to finish it off.

Game 4: In the final game of the 4 game sweep, the Reivers won with a score of 12-1. Cooper Bowman and Greg Bennett both knocked in 3 runners, while Caleb Balgaard and Jaden Rolffs knocked in two each as well. On the bump Jayden Kruse picked up his 3rd win of the season going 3 innings striking out 2 and giving up 1. Marius Balandis came in to close out the game and the sweep.

 

Reivers next conference series will be played against Indian Hills this weekend 4/13-14 starting with 2 home games Saturday followed by two away on Sunday.
