Reivers sweep Conference Player of the Week Awards

Boone, Iowa

The Reivers swept the ICCAC Player of the Week honors handed out by the conference on Tuesday with Cooper Bowman and Trystan Kimmel earning recognition.

Freshman shortstop Cooper Bowman is in the spotlight after a week full of play during Spring Break. In seven games, Bowman batted .473 (9 of 19), including two doubles. The freshman was responsible for 10 runs, only two of which were RBIs. Bowman also showed off his speed around the bases when he successfully stole twice, which helped lead to his eight runs scored.

Sophomore Righthand Pitcher Trystan Kimmel grabbed Pitcher of the Week honors.  The Colorado native was dominant while on the mound last week.  Kimmel earned three saves, bringing his season total to seven in just 19 games played. The righty is currently tied for first place in saves in the NJCAA. During Spring Break, Kimmel pitched five short innings, tacking on eight strikeouts to his total of 19. The sophomore maintained his 0.00 ERA.

Overall, the Reivers played well, finishing the week with a record of 6-1. Conference play starts Saturday, March 30 when the Reivers hosts Marshalltown.

The Reivers host Ellsworth (Tuesday) and Marshalltown (Saturday) this week at Doc Ross Field.
