Jake Ryan begins his eighteenth year as the 'Voice of the Reivers' and his 19th overall with Iowa Western in 2023-24.

Prior to moving into his role with the Reivers, Ryan spent eight years as the afternoon host on 89.7 FM, the college's 100,000-watt radio station.  During his tenure, the 'Jake Ryan Radio Experience' regularly ranked in the Top Three of the Arbitron ratings in the Omaha Metropolitan Area for males 18-35 and was regularly in the top five for males 18-55 during his daypart.

Ryan took the reigns on Reivers play-by-play duties in 2006 and has served as the primary voice of the athletic department since that time, creating the branding for the Reiver Sports Network on 89.7 FM and IWTV (formerly CBTV17).  He has broadcast every Reivers Football game, both home and away, to date, a span dating back to the team's inaugural season in 2009.

Ryan has also served as the Public Address Announcer for the Creighton Men's Basketball team for the past 19 seasons and also spends additional time helping Creighton with play-by-play and color commentator duties for other Bluejays sports including Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball and Men's and Women's Soccer both on JaysTV and the Big East Digital Network.  He's been the public address announcer for four different NCAA Men's Basketball Tournaments ('08, '12, '15 and '18) and has also served as PA announcer for Nebraska-Omaha Hockey, the Missouri Valley baseball tournament, Omaha Storm Chasers baseball, the TV time-out coordinator for the Big 10 baseball tournament at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, sideline reporter and in-stadium radio announcer for Westwood One for the Men's College World Series at Rosenblatt Stadium in addition to many freelance roles for regional and national sports television broadcasts.  

You can also hear his voice throughout the Omaha area as a freelance voice-over talent for radio and TV commercials and as the co-owner of 1 Eyed Jacks, a mobile music and master of ceremony company.

Ryan is from Papillion, Nebraska, and was first introduced to Iowa Western as a student in the media studies program, he holds his bachelor of science degree in Sports Management from Bellevue University.
