Joe Miller enters his 11th year at Iowa Western Community College in 2023-24

Miller serves as an athletic trainer and member of IWCC's adjunct faculty.

Responsible for the evaluation, care, and rehabilitation of IWCC athletes, Miller also teaches classes within the exercise science and health and recreation programs and serves as the Impact coordinator, drug testing coordinator, and student employment supervisor.

Miller, an IWCC alum, graduated from South Dakota State University in 2010 and became a certified athletic trainer in 2011.

Prior to his return to IWCC, Joe spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN, receiving his master’s degree in education with an emphasis in sports leadership and management in 2012. After graduation, Miller spent a year working at TRIA Orthopedic Center in Bloomington, MN working as a physician extender athletic trainer with Dr. Joel Boyd, team physician for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild.

Originally from Fonda, IA, Miller lives in Council Bluffs with his wife, Abby.
