Reiver Women's Golf Wraps Up Spring Regular Season

The Reiver women concluded their Spring Regular season with a win at their hosted event, The Bent Tree Intercollegiate. Once again, the wind played a large part in both days. Day 1 brought 20-25 mph sustained wind with wind gusts of 35-40 mph.

At the conclusion of Day 1 the Reivers found themselves in first place by 1 stroke over Bellevue University. Led by Freshman Charlie Maxwell and an 80 and followed by Baylie Pyke with an 82 helped pace the Reivers.

Day 2 brought similar wind but from a different direction. The Reivers improved their score by 21 strokes and saw their winning score over Bellevue increase by 3 strokes. Pyke, had a tournament round low score of 76 to vault her into 1st place over all. Maxwell maintained her scoring with another 80 to finish in 3rd place. While Beatriz Pinheiro and Lauren Brown rounded out the team score with 84 & 87 respectfully. Wen-Yi Hung played as an individual and had to a top 10 finish at 8th place.

Post Season starts play April 29th and 30th when the Reivers compete in the Plains District Championship in Dodge City, KS with a birth to the National Championship on the line. "I like where we are right now," said Head Coach Matt Robinson. "The ladies are confident and ready to compete. I just wish we had 1 tournament this spring where the wind isn't the main headline."
