Women take the Lead at the Region XI Golf Championships

The Reiver Women started off on the right note at the Region XI championships this past weekend. The first 2 rounds were played this past Thursday and Friday in Ankeny Iowa (Otter Creek Golf Course). The Reiver opened play shooting a team score of 326 to take a 18 stoke lead over the second place team Iowa Lakes. Lisa Lied fired a low round of 78 to sit tied in 1st place. 4 other Reivers finished the round in the top 5 spots. Emily Spies sat in 3rd place, Kassy Vest was in 4th and Kimberly Park was tied in 5th sport.

The Women were able to extend the lead over Iowa Lakes in Round 2. The Ladies shot a season low round of 321 to take a 18 stroke lead on the field. Iowa Lakes kept it close by shotting a school record in their round. Lied was still tied for 1st place after improving her day 1 score by 1 stroke (77). The Reiver still have 3 other golfers in the top 8: Park improved to end in 3rd place, Spies is tied for 5th and Vest grinded out her second round to end Tied for 8th. Marisa Weeks made the biggest jump from Day 1. She sat tied for 20th after Day 1, she turned around and fired a 83 on Day 2 and currently sits tied for 14th.

Sarah Blaylock ended her College career with the Reivers. She was able to break 100 both days (94 & 99). Her best 2 day total in her career!
