Reiver Women Pick up 1st Victory of the Season

The Reiver Women started the season with a first place finish at the Klocke Family Classic hosted by Mt. Mercy University. A lot of question marks surrounded this team entering the first event. The team scoring consisted of 4 Freshman as well as returning All-American Lisa Lied. The Women performed well in wet conditions and was sitting in 3rd place after the first round. Start of day 2 the Reivers took advantage of their length and accuracy off the tee box and improved on their putting to to turn a 9 stroke deficit into a 7 stroke victory.

Lisa Lied took the individual honors by shooting a low tournament round of 71 on day 2 to win by 3 strokes. Incoming Freshman, Emily Spies earned a 4th place finish to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team. Fellow Freshman Marisa Weeks fired a 82 in Round 1 and Corey Mein shot a 88 in round 2 along with Kassy Vest with a 89.

Individual Places were the following: Lied-1st, Spies-4th, Weeks-20th, Kim Park-21st, Mein & Vest T24th, Payton Schmidt-36th

The women will take the next 3 week off and thenreturn to play in the Bellevue Classic, hosted by Bellevue, NE on Spet. 24th and 25th.
