Reivers show improvement at Augie Twilight

Sioux Falls, SD- The Iowa Western Harries traveled to Yankton Trail Park where competition from D1, D2, NAIA, and fellow JUCO competitors lined the start line.

Looking to improve on last week's season-opening performance, the Reivers were excited about the unique competition.  Assistant Coach Marc Bierbaum said, "It's not your typical cross country race.  It's a race track on grass in the dark with a DJ, food trucks, a drone, and glow sticks.  This is a bit more adrenaline racing under the lights with a large crowd cheering. It is a phenomenal atmosphere to race in."

The Reivers were led by Sophomore Neri Getraide who finished 2nd overall among JUCO competitors.

The sophomore got out to a controlled start as that was a focal point for her this week "I wanted to start more controlled, last week I felt like I got out too fast". Getraide got out much more controlled this week which helped her finish much stronger. The last 600 meters of the race she managed to outkick 15 competitors to improve her time from last week's race.

The Reivers will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Grinnel, IA for the Les Duke Invite.
