Joby Ramos

Joby Ramos enters his third year with the Reivers for the 2024-25 season. A four-year NCAA Division I men's volleyball athlete for the University of the Pacific and the University of Hawai'i, Ramos comes to Council Bluffs for his first full-time collegiate coaching venture.

Ramos started 51 of 54 matches for the Rainbow Warriors over two seasons, accumulating 2,023 assists, 9.77 assists/set, 310 digs, 94 blocks, and 57 kills.  Before his time at Hawai'i, Ramos saw limited action with the Pacific Tigers in two seasons.  As a sophomore, he appeared in 20 sets and recorded four assists and three digs... as a freshman appeared in 19 matches and 27 sets and posted 40 assists, five digs, and one block.

Ramos comes to Iowa Western after spending four seasons as a volunteer coach and graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska under head coach John Cook.

A native of Honolulu, Hawai'i, Ramos is a 2010 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, O'ahu.  Ramos was a four-year letter winner for volleyball, and a member of O'ahu Interscholastic Association championship teams in 2007, '09, and '10.

Ramos holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education – Mathematics and enjoys woodworking, disc golf, hiking, and body surfing.
