COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA

Reiver Volleyball and the metro's volleyball community are mourning the sudden passing of Volunteer Assistant Dennis South on Monday.

Coach South served as the Reivers primary statistician for the past three seasons and was with the team over the weekend at their tournament in Great Bend, Kansas.

Before working with the Reivers, South served as the Head Coach at Lewis Central High School for 14 years. 

He was also a certified high school volleyball official in California, Nebraska, and Iowa and put those talents to work throughout the metro and southwest Iowa.

In addition, he also served as the director of the Top 10 Volleyball Club and played volleyball collegiately at Pacific Christian College and Cal State Fullerton.
