Reivers Fly Past Blackhawks 3-0

Burlington, IA:  Iowa Western finish perfect in conference play after beating Southeastern 3-0.

How It Happened:  The Reivers were able to control the pace of the game by maintaining possession throughout most of the match.  The game remained tied 0-0 during the first half as neither team was able to capitalize on the chances they created.

After the break, the Reivers were able to find the back of the net with a crossed ball in from Lina Jaime that Paola Ochoa was able to head in during the 57th minute.  Just 2 minutes later Laura Linares was able to slot the ball into the 18 for Moriah Lucas to find the near post upper 90 for a stunning finish.  Throughout the second half, the Reivers outshot the Blackhawks 7-4.  The final goal of the game came in the 65th minute with Moriah Lucas passing the ball to Laura Linares and her clinical finish.

Notes & Numbers:  Iowa Western improves to 11-4-0, 8-0-0.  This marks the 4th season in a row that the Reivers remained undefeated in conference play.

Quotes:  Coach Adam Sanchez: "Southeastern was ready to play today, our ladies were able to remain focused and play our style against a tricky team.  It's always hard to be the traveling team but we were able to control the game from the start and make adjustments that ultimately lead to a win."
